ANIGRE WOOD VENEER, QUARTER CUT MEDIUM FIGURE
Medium figure anigre veneer, also known as quarter cut medium figure anigre wood veneer or medium figure quartered anigre veneer is typically a blonde, light yellowish-brown to a sometimes pinkish cream wood that ages to a nice golden brown color. It is available as FlexVen™ 10 and FlexVen™ 20 paper backed 4′ x 8′ flexible veneer sheets with a PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) option. Non figured Anigre wood veneer is also available in the 4′ x 10′ size and with Tuf-Pli™ polyback or Pli-Flex™ wood on wood backers as special order.
It is usually book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Quarter cut med. figure anigre is sometimes referred to as rift cut light fiddleback anigre. Medium figure anigre wood veneer is lustrous and can be somewhat striking in appearance. Anigre is a hardwood of medium density that has occasional light silica inclusions. Medium figure anigre wood veneer can range from a standard A to an occasional premium grade, mostly due to the figure fading halfway through the flitch. It has a fine to medium texture with tight pores but at times has been known to be coarse. Anigre wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well which accentuate the medium figure. It is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.
